Roar

Ever been intimidated to wear anything Leopard print?

Don’t be.

Wearing Leopard print can be bold but fun and sexy.

It all depends how you wear it.

Don’t go all out leopard print, you don’t want to scare anyone out there with your hunting skills…

Wear and embrace this print with class and a bit of edge, make it look sexy yet stylish and elegant.

I love this print on shoes and bags mostly.

I find it spices up your look. As this print is quite bold make sure your outfit is subtle.

It brings out the fierce side of me and who doesn’t like a night out feeling very powerful.

Have fun with it and strut that amazing leopard like walk!

Love Sonal x

Fiery

Want to go to a fashion exhibition and don’t know what to wear?

Such an event took place here in Nairobi this weekend.

The famous “Divalicious” fashion exhibition, where indian and local designers came together to showcase their amazing designs, pre’t and couture.

There is so much to choose from and the designs simply breathtaking.

If you are on the hunt for formal, causal or any last minute indian wedding attire, then this is the event to go to.

Since its an exhibition and you will be walking around socialising and shopping, an outfit that you are comfortable in is a must.

It gets hot at the venue with so many fashion lovers and exhibitors storming in and out, so an outfit that is breathable and light would be ideal.

Let not forget the shoes! Wear comfortable flats or a shoe that has a block or wedge heel.

I chose to dress in a fiery orange yellow bandhni print trouser suit that was light, fashionable and comfortable.

I paired this with tan block heels and a bag in a contrast colour to complete the look.

I kept accessories to minimal as the colour of this outfit is all i wanted focus on.

I love casual cool outfits like this. Its a no brainer and almost anyone can carry it beautifully.

What i really like are the structured pants that hit the ankle and in my case i find flatter me most.

My friends and i had lunch at an Italian restaurant within the venue and then we were set to shop.

Where were you this weekend? Wherever you were i hope you kept it classy and cool!

Here is my look.

Love…x

Caramel

The weather has been playing on us for a few days now.

Its been raining non stop and then we have days like today, the sun is out with a little drizzle.

Do you feel like reaching out to a cozy light sweater and jeans? Don’t just yet.

Its May and the spring vibe is all i get.

What best than heels and white denim!

Why not put on a pair of denim, a t shirt, heels, and a light throw over ?

The robe style is huge this season. Its light, wearable and oh so fashionable.

I’ve invested in quite a few that i will show soon.

It has a royal feel, glamorous and very elegant even over jeans.

I love white. Its my favourite colour.

There is so much purity in white, so much truth.

A blank canvas which compliments any other colour put into it.

Like fine cappuccino i blend it with a hue of caramel and chestnut accents.

This outfit is perfect for drizzly days and late morning coffees.

It needs no accessory as it is complete in its own element, you can add or take away nothing to make it better in my opinion.

Now its clear why artists use a white canvas.

Here is my look.

Hope you like it,

Love xx

Silver Sparkle

Ever want that fresh feeling when you dress up?

I always reach out to silver, white and pale gold shades when I’m feeling a sense of fresh.

The key is to pick the right shade of silver or pale gold.

Keep your complexion in mind and try different shades to figure out which one suit you best.

I personally prefer reaching out to silver pearly shades.

Paired with off white i think it blends in well.

This colour palette screams elegance and sophistication.

There is something about pearly whites and silver that just call my name.

Here i paired two separates, wide leg trousers and a two tone silver gold sleeveless top.

I accessorised with a black clutch since the trousers have a black trim on the bottom.

Add a beautiful pearl, uncut diamond necklace and my absolute favourite Louboutin spikes that are loud and undeniable.

Heres the look, i hope you like it.

Keep it elegant, keep it stylish x

Nautical by nature

The nautical look is one of those ageless trends that seem to come back every few years.

And with good reason! The look is classic and flattering.

Nautical colours include navy, white, red and orange.

These colours when paired together the look becomes unmistakable.

Start by picking out your primary colour in either red or navy.

Chose either white or khaki for your bottom colour.

Once your colour palette is selected you then start building your style.

This look is all about stripes and structure.

Pick one piece and take it from there.

Navy and white stripes are the most iconic staples for a classic look.

You can dress down or up whichever your mood.

I went for a navy and white striped cropped blouse paired with white denim and classic navy “So Kate” heels.

Its easy to go overboard with this look so be careful.

Add accessories such as a anchor bracelet or boat shoes but don’t go overboard.

Less is more.

I always prefer a clean simple and sophisticated look.

Remember elegance is in the attitude.

Its time to drop your anchors ladies, lets get nautical !

Gorgeous Guipure

Hello my loves.

I am now back from my travels in India and almost settled in again.

Whilst there i did indulge in shopping as any girl would and found that the fashion and street style in Mumbai has evolved so much from the last time i was there.

From long flowy jackets, to high waisted trousers, short ankle length jeans, un- hemmed pants, everything was chic and stylish.

I love to watch people go about their business and what they wear. Its a hobby.

Tees were replaced by long cotton or linen kurtas, crop tops were all over and cool shades and patterns were all screaming summer.

Evenings were humid and hot, short summer dresses, sling bags and sparkly clutches set the scene.

I particularly had never worn crop tops and high waisted anything and always stayed away from these as i felt it didn’t quite fit my style and body shape and height.

But, seeing so many of them around i dared to embrace this trend and was pleasantly surprised by how much i actually liked it on me.

I better keep those abs flat! No one wants to wear a crop top and have all the love pouring out right?

For an evening of fun and fashion in Nairobi upon my return, i decided on a beautiful navy guipure lace high waisted suit.

Beautiful type of bobbin lace all around made this navy number even more special.

I kept it simple with minimal accessories, a silver clutch and blue black heels.

I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone with this one but i loved it!.

Here is the look, i hope you enjoy it.

Keep it fashionable, keep it stylish.

Love always x

Relaxed ‘N’ Chic

Now that the sun is taking over our planet all i can think of is comfy relaxed outfits to beat the heat.

I feel relaxed and chic is the new way to go when trying to look fashionable in the blazing temperatures.

Tiny little prints,  breezy fluid fabrics, rich creamy colours, whites, electric blues, stripes and pastels.

Its like holidaying in perfect summer clothes just not on the beach yet!

You want to look feminine yet powerful.

I think the key is to make it look effortless.

You know when you want to achieve a look where you love looking like you couldn’t care less yet look like a million dollars?

Think Bomber jackets with little tiny white dresses. OR

Fluid white tops with distressed jeans.

Whether its fluid or more structured silhouettes, go for light coloured hues that are perfect for casual outfits.

Remember the play of silhouettes is the ticket to sophistication.

Here i show you how i styled a beautiful fluid white embroided top for a fun day out with the kids.

Simple, sophisticated and stylish for a mom on the go!

What are you wearing to beat the heat?
